A Cardinal Visit

I hear a quick high pitched chirp of the cardinal somewhere up in the trees. Will it come down to visit as I sit and wait quietly, patiently, anticipating its arrival? There he is now perched on a small branch of the eucalyptus tree, singing and fluttering his wings. His firery red colors stand out against the background of a clear blue sky. Bold and bright he puffs out his chest and looks around as if to say "Do you see me? Do you see how beautiful I am?" I gaze at the cardinal in amazement of Gods' creation. How He knew exactly what He was doing when He created color, and decided to splash it all over the universe so we could see and acknowledge His creativity. Our enjoyment and pleasure were at the top of His list.

The cardinal now has decided to carry on with his journey. As he flys to another tree further away, he looks back as if to say "I'll come back tomorrow and let you look at me again".

I smile because I will be waiting, quietly, patiently anticipating his arrival... Thank you God for allowing me to see the beauty of your creation on a daily basis.
