My oldest daughter works nights and I work nights. We communicate through text messaging thoughout the night. One of us or the other will start the conversation with "How's it going" with the other responding usually with "ok u?" We can usually tell whether it's really ok or not just by those 2 words. So tonight I texted her "how's it going" with her responding with "fine". I text back "fine? You never respond with fine are you sure?" She says " its just ok really how about u?"I respond back with "ok same ole not much changes when you get older lol" she responds back with "lol" (laughing out loud). Then I say "except aches and pains". And that's it for a while. I'm sure if she's really not ok she will eventually let me know.
Text messaging...what a wonder. Typing with 1 or 2 fingers on a tiny little keyboard. Who would have thought 20 years ago that texting would be possible. We use it all the time now. We text our friends, we text our family, we text our business partners. Communicating without verbally speaking to one another.
I do believe God knew about texting. I believe He sent us one big text. His Holy Word the Bible. His way of communicating with us. His way of keeping in touch. His way of seeing if we are "ok" or not "ok". Obviously we cannot text God back. But we can still communicate with Him through Prayer.
Modern technology... really isn't so modern is it?
