Ok today I think I might start writing a weekly note....Just to see where I'm coming from and where I'm headed. I don't care about the present because if you think about it there really is no present. The present is a combination of the past and future in the same moment. Sure it's there but not really because it's always changing. So there is no real defining "present". (I know BORING! But what else do I have to do besides work and sleep?)
Oh yeah that's right sometimes I have the opportunity to go fishing. I really enjoy fishing. There are a couple of reasons why I look forward to this outing. First of all it's quiet. I love quiet. There are usually only a few people around who are pretty much minding their own business. The quiet gives me the opportunity to not have to think about anything. Or to think about things with a semi-clear head depending on the mood I am in or what's going on. Most of the time I really don't like to think. That's probably because I am thinking all the time. So giving my brain a rest is a good thing. Secondly (back to fishing) I love to feel the nibble at the end of my line. And there is nothing like a good bite to pull that line down. As you yank it back up knowing there is something at the end of that line, you reel with anticipation looking forward to seeing what is on your hook. What is it this time? A spanish mackrel? A mangrove snapper? A whiting? A speckled trout? A shark? Yes sireeeee, I have even caught a few shark. So here I am reeling, reeling, reeling and whatever it is it's getting closer and closer to the top of the water. I see it now as I'm pulling it up. What is it? A pinfish?! AHH Good bait! So what do I do? I leave it on my hook. I prepare to cast and zing, back into the water it goes. I might just catch another shark after all. And so begins the feel of another nibble.....
