Time

Yesterday started my vacation. I have not gone anywhere yet but will be leaving on Tuesday to a place which in my mind is the most exotic, captivating, enchanting place I have ever been. I see it on my desktop as my background, I see it on a continuous basis in my minds eye as I have been waiting for what seems like forever to get on the plane and reach my destination. I have been anticipating this vacation for 5 months. And now the time is here. My plan on arrival is to put away my things and settle in. I'll go over to the window and gaze out across the limitless expanse of field and trees and watch as the hummingbirds swoop in to dine at their feeder. Then I'll watch the gentle stillness of a Doe standing at the edge of the wood ears perked up looking intently my way wondering what this human is doing peering out looking at her locking eyes. As she slowly turns and prances off her white tail twitches as she looks back for a brief second as if to say I'll see you later. I'll walk out on the deck into the brisk cool air as the sunlight warms my face, look up into the sky and thank God for giving me the opportunity to see and feel the miraculous gift of His creation. And so will begin my week of respite, much needed, well deserved.
